Spyro Reignited Trilogy is an all-around wonderful remake, one that should come to as many platforms as possible. PC players will get their chance to collect thousands of gems and lose their temper during those pesky time-trial flight levels later this year when the three-in-one package is ported over.

Activision hasn’t officially confirmed the PC version yet, but Taiwan’s Digital Game Rating Committee has listed Spyro Reignited Trilogy for PC complete with box art and everything. E3 2019 is right around the corner I’m ready to thrive on a diet of scrambled eggs, yogurt, and string cheese for a week in downtown LA so a full announcement through the proper channels should be coming any day now.

Another high-profile PlayStation remake, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, made it to PC after its initial PS4 launch. It’s not a total shock to hear that Spyro Reignited Trilogy will also make the rounds. According to this week’s rating out of Taiwan, Iron Galaxy Studios is handling the PC port. I’d expect to see it release on Steam by November at the absolute latest. That’s the one-year-later mark.

If you’re wondering if Spyro has aged gracefully and/or if it’s worth looking into even though you missed Insomniac’s mascot platformer back in the ’90s, my answer is a resounding yes. Go for it! I never played the full trilogy prior to this remake and as someone who goes to bat for Donkey Kong 64 despite its absurdity, I appreciated Spyro‘s exploration and item-collecting focus. It’s such a breezy series.

I’ll never not want to set Moneybags on fire, though. He’s the true villain as far as I’m concerned.
