Back in October, Sega announced that it was bringing its Dreamcast hit Samba de Amigo to the Wii sometime in the spring of 2008. Well, it is now officially spring, Sega: Where’s the game? I turned my calendar to March 21 with a giant sombrero on my head and have been waiting patiently ever since.

Luckily, some Wii-specific screens have just been released and … AHHHHH! MY EYES! MY EYES! Seriously though, the images look great, but I don’t remember the original game being this colorful. Mr. Furley called; he wants his ascot patterns back. Oh! *rimshot*

Blinding saturation aside, these new screens also seem to confirm some sort of basic Mii integration. Having your cute avatar dance in the background is a cool feature, but how much fun would it be to actually play as your Mii?

Speaking of wishful thinking, is it really that hard for designers to incorporate dual Wiimote play? I mean, I am fine with shaking my virtual maracas using the Wiimote and nunchuk, but wouldn’t using one Wiimote in each hand be so much “cooler”? I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me.

What do you think? Are you as excited about this game as I am?

[UPDATE: Dual Wiimote controls are now confirmed! Yay! Thanks, A New Challenger!]
