Squirtle isn’t the only Pokemon with sunglasses in Pokemon Go

It’s the two-year anniversary bash

Pokémon Go has entered its terrible twos. So much has changed (and so much hasn’t). To celebrate the game’s second birthday, Niantic is letting Pikachu in on the sunglasses fun alongside our boy Squirtle.

Now through July 31, Pokémon Go players will encounter more wild Pichu and Pikachu. That’s all well and good, but Summer Style Pikachu — the one with the straw hat and sunglasses — is where it’s at.

“We’ve heard so many amazing stories from Trainers, and we can’t wait for what’s on the horizon,” said Niantic. “We’re excited to announce that Special Research on the Mythical Pokémon Celebi will be available globally in the near future.”
