Over the last few days while playing GTA Online on PC, a message window was being displayed in-game about the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. It had an official Rockstar logo and everything and made people wonder what was going on. While I’m pretty certain Rockstar is actually developing the next entry in its car stealing simulator, the studio is gearing up to release Red Dead Redemption 2 this November. There is no way they would cannibalize the sales of one game with the release of another in such a short span.

Well, if you needed further clarification about this obvious hoax, Rockstar responded to a fan query on Twitter with the following statement:

This is a hoax made with the use of mods, and not an official message or statement from Rockstar Games. *OV

I think I might lose it if GTA VI actually does release next year.
