HD forklift racing can’t come soon enough
Since Shenmue III’s announcement back at E3 2015, glimpses of the game have been somewhat few and far between and the status of the game itself shows it’s clearly still deep in development (the last major update on the project was a delay to 2018). The Kickstarter managed to raise nearly $7 million to help fund the development.
But it seems developer Ys Net has still been actively looking for publishing help and has found that partner through Deep Silver.
In a statement on the Shenmue III official website:
“The Shemue III project has signed a global publishing contract with Deep Silver, the game division of the German company, Koch Media. Game fans may already be familiar with Deep Silver, as they are a trusted brand who has helped many Japanese game titles find their audiences around the world.
We are proud to have gained a wonderfully reliable partner to make sure Shenmue III reaches all its fans all over the planet.”
Deep Silver is best known for publishing a number of games in PAL regions, including major Japanese titles such as Persona 5 and the upcoming Yakuza Kiwami. Here’s hoping this new partnership is a hit for all parties involved.
Yu Suzuki and some of the Ys Net team will also be at Gamescom next week as well. They’ll be holding a meet and greet on August 23 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and August 24 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm in public area hall 9.1 in booth B011/C010.
Maybe strike up a chance to play lucky hit with the man himself!
