So not a whole lot has changed so far in terms of third party releases on Nintendo systems. The whole industry was scared by the Wii U (and to a lesser extent, the tail-end of the shovelware filled Wii), and a lot of heavy-hitters are holding off on really committing to the Switch.

That includes EA and Ubisoft, who have talked big but have yet to put forth anything but ports, and now, Capcom. Speaking to Express UK, the publisher notes that while the Switch is a “very unique piece of hardware” (this isn’t a unique piece of lip service!), “we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch.”

Given the huge partnerships they’ve had in the past with Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube and the Wii, it’s disappointing, to say the least. The Sony deal with PSVR also doesn’t help matters, I’m sure. A lot of fans and companies alike have lost faith in Nintendo, but if the Switch sells like hotcakes, Capcom will come knocking.
