Bayonetta 2 will have local and online co-op

A bunch of you who missed Bayonetta 2 on Wii U will have the opportunity to experience it on Nintendo Switch in February and that makes me so very happy. To my mind, it’s one of the best action games ever made, and I say that as someone who skipped the original Bayonetta the first time around.

Expanding on what we saw last night at The Game Awards, Bayonetta 1 and 2 will be priced as follows:

  • The two-game physical edition will be $60 and include a download code for Bayonetta.
  • Bayonetta 2 will cost $50 on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Once you buy the sequel, you’ll then be able to get Bayonetta for $10.
  • If you purchase Bayonetta on the Switch eShop first, it’ll cost $30, but you’ll then be able to nab Bayonetta 2 for $30.

In short, just get both of ’em on February 16. They’re fantastic.

Platinum also announced a few extra features for Bayonetta 2 in a now-removed blog post. This new port will have online and local support for Tag Climax co-op, amiibo functionality of some sort (more costumes?), and up-to-30-second video recordings through the Switch’s capture feature.
