One step closer to Joi from Blade Runner

A friend of mine picked up Amazon Alexa recently. She controls the lights in his home, she also knew that Robert De Niro was 74 years old. Unfortunately, she had never heard of The Industry’s Chris Moyse, so I guess the technology isn’t quite there yet.

Not only can Alexa crush your lofty dreams of internet fame, or help you with petty trivia arguments, she can also help you out with Bungie’s sci-fi shooter, Destiny 2, courtesy of a new “Ghost Skill” app, which has been made available for download to the pseudo-buddy.

Once installed, uttering the command of “Alexa, ask Ghost about…” will results in the ever-recognisable voice of Nolan North spouting out tips and information, such as which of your friends are online, advice on your next move, even your loadout arrangement. The app purports to feature over a thousand different responses.

For more hardcore fans, wanting the full Ghost experience, Amazon are releasing a limited edition Alexa speaker based upon the Ghost drone design. The little bot will set you back $90/£80, and is available for pre-order today, ahead of a December 19 shipping date.

Ghost Skill is available for download now through the Alexa app.
