Once upon a time, Touhou games, despite being something of a phenomenon in Japan, didn’t have a snowball’s chance in Hell of ever seeing a western release. But it’s clearly no longer that time.

NIS America has announced plans to publish Touhou Genso Wanderer, a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita rougelike from doujinsoft studio Aqua Style, across North America and Europe in early 2017.

Much like the previously announced Touhou Genso Rondo (a shooter-fighting game hybrid also localized by NIS) and Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity (an action role-playing game coming west via XSEED), Touhou Genso Wanderer is a Touhou fan game that has been ported to PlayStation as part of “Play! Doujin,” a collaboration between Sony and Touhou creator Juny’a “Zun” Ota of Team Shanghai Alice.

One of the more recent entries in the mainline series, Touhou 14: Double Dealing Character, was released digitally for Windows PC via Active Gaming Media’s Playism platform last May.
