‘Can’t make any official promises’

Game Informer had the chance to catch up with Bravely Default producer Masashi Takahashi, which resulted in several interesting tidbits regarding the history of the series and where it could possibly go in the future. Once such nugget is the fact that although nothing is confirmed yet, it could hit consoles one day.

When asked about the possibility, Takahashi responded: “Unfortunately, I can’t make any official promises, but Bravely Default was the first RPG I worked on since joining Square Enix, and the series has grown very near and dear to my heart. Personally speaking, I’d love to see it happen. I’d also like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all of you around the world who have played and loved the Bravely series. For me, there is no greater happiness than to be able to join with you to make the world of games even more fun.”

I could easily see it as a downloadable-only game — a tactic Square Enix has been dabbling in a lot these days for RPG projects. While I had my issues with the second it was still a great romp, and so was the first, so I’d easily get both of them on consoles to share with posterity.
