The multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: WWII has come and gone on consoles. Next up? PC!

Sledgehammer will run an open multiplayer beta on Steam from September 29 through October 2. The studio says this is meant to be a stress test and a way to “fine-tune and optimize the PC experience for November.” They’ve also posted the minimum system specs for the beta:

  • OS: Windows 7 64-Bit or later
  • CPU: Intel Core i3 3225 or equivalent
  • RAM: 8 GB RAM
  • HDD: 25 GB HD space
  • Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 @ 2 GB / AMD Radeon HD 7850 @ 2GB or better
  • DirectX: Version 11.0 compatible video card or equivalent
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Keep in mind, these specs won’t necessarily be the same in the full game.

I’d be curious to try the new War mode, where you work together as a squad to tackle a series of objectives, but not a whole lot else (other than maybe Zombies) is speaking to me. Here’s a trailer from the recent console beta to give you an idea of what to expect from WWII:
