There’s still time, Avalanche
Just Cause revels in its penchant for doing everything over-the-top. It wants you to hang upside-down from a helicopter, plant C4, dive toward the earth as the whirlybird explodes above you, grapple onto another helicopter, hijack it and send it spiraling into a nearby smokestack. Then, it wants you to do that a million more times while you cheekily smile and justify your actions by lightheartedly saying “just ’cause…”
The point is Just Cause 3, like prior entries in the series, will be extreme with a capital X. However, the file size on Xbox One is only a little extreme. It’s moderately extreme, which is probably an oxymoron. If you really want numbers instead of varying descriptions of its extreme-ity, it’s 42.49GB.
That’s kind of a lot, but not really. Stock Xbox Ones come with 500GB hard drives, so it’s a good chunk of that. Yet, when other titles like Halo 5 require 60GB, 43 doesn’t seem so bad for a game with a 400 square mile map.
The opportunity to stay thematically consistent was there, Avalanche. This could’ve been a whopping 80GB. Or 100! That’d sure be something worth talking about. You still have time to add a huge meaningless day one patch. It might make a lot of people mad, but I’d respect your commitment to being extreme.
