Now that Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star is out on store shelves in Japan, Marvelous – the developer of the Musou-like action game that’s based on the Fate franchise – has announced the release schedule for several waves of DLC costumes that players can buy for it.

The first wave of DLC costumes for Fate/Extella, which you can view in the gallery below, will launch on November 17 in Japan and consists mostly of swimsuits for many of the game’s playable Servants. The most noticeable exception is Medusa, who instead gets access to a bunny outfit. Each individual DLC costume will cost ¥400, or approximately $3.75 USD, although you’ll also be able to buy them as a bundle for ¥2,880 ($27 USD).

Marvelous will then release the “Extella Special Costumes” collection on November 24, which contains outfits for Tamamo no Mae, Medusa, Artoria Pendragon, Gilgamesh and Jeanne d’Arc. Additional costume sets will be distributed on a weekly basis, up until December 15. Needless to say, I’m sure this will all add up to some rather absurd amount of money, should you decide to purchase every DLC costume for Fate/Extella.

One thing that I find to be a bit of a missed opportunity is that there is no swimsuit DLC for the single greatest character in the Fate franchise; Iskandar, King of Conquerors. There’s a disturbing lack of currently-confirmed DLC costumes for Iskandar, and I would have been more than happy to pay good money for the privilege of playing as him clad in nothing but a swimsuit.

Let’s just hope that the upcoming “Extella Men’s Costumes” collection will contain something appropriately glorious for the true King of Conquerors.

At this point in time, there has been no confirmation of a release for these DLC costumes in the West. With that being said, I would be really surprised if they don’t eventually make it to European and U.S. copies of Fate/Extella when it launches in early 2017.
