How long can you survive in Out There: Omega Edition?

Mi-Clos’ roguelike reminds us how insignificant we are in the universe

Out There: Omega Edition by Mi-Clos Studio is certainly a pretty little thing. Don’t let its eye-catching pulp-comic appearance fool you, though. It’s a difficult game.

Think Oregon Trail meets FTL and you’ll have a good idea of what the studio is going for here. You’ll jump from one star to another, burning through precious resources as you go; hoping beyond hope that your next jump will put you in a position to scratch up just enough fuel to continue on your journey.

Although admittedly a difficult game by design, it’s actually quite relaxing to play. If you enjoy the randomness of a roguelike and don’t mind the constant threat of permadeath, Out There: Omega Edition could be a fun addition to your library.

Currently, the game is available in beta form on the Humble Store for $8.99. By pre-ordering you’ll get instant access to the beta on Steam, Out There Classic for Android (that will update to the Omega Edition for free) and you’ll get the Early Access version of the game when it launches sometime in March or April.
