A bouncy low-poly FPS platformer by Tyrus Peace
Originally created for the 7DFPS Challenge in 2012, Cloudbase Prime is an attractive-looking low-poly FPS platformer by Tyrus Peace and is currently available for free in its 0.2 alpha state. You can download it here.
Set on a floating mining platform above a gas giant, you’ll be tasked with destroying robotic enemies using your energy cannon and the Architect: a gizmo that can be used to manipulate the hex-based tiles that the mining platform is constructed from.
The game reminds me a bit of Drunken Robot Pornography, and that’s definitely not a bad thing in my book: It’s got giant robots, high-flying platforming and first-person shooter elements. Oh yeah, did I mention that it’s free?
For an idea of how the game plays, take a look at the developer’s Walker Mech combat footage in the video above.
