Hooray, Dark Souls is done forever
Despite not being the biggest fan of Dark Souls, I’ve been strangely invested in tracking Twitch Plays Dark Souls’ progress. It’s been a wild journey, from spending over three days stuck in the game’s first area, to then blasting through Ornstein and Smough only a few weeks ago.
Well, my friends, the end has come. We must say goodbye to Twitch Plays Dark Souls, as they have finally managed to defeat the final boss. It took 43 days, some major changes to how the game plays, and a lot of mockery from the “git gud” crowd, but Gwyn, Lord of Cinder, is dead.
You can watch the edited video of the fight up top, courtesy of WhyDoYouBark. As usual, because the game was modified to be more of a turn-based affair to make it actually possible, the sound may sound a bit wonky. Probably worth just muting it and hiring a group of Gregorian Monks to stand behind you and chant or something.
So, where next for Twitch Plays? Dark Souls was always the one people joked about beating, and that’s now happened… so Super Meat Boy next, right?
