[Update: Nintendo asked if we would update this story to say that this is not a legal product. No problem, I said.]
Remember that aluminum NES we told you about earlier this year? It’s available now.
The Analogue NT is a NES/Famicom (region-free) with HDMI and RGB out (as well as Component, S-Video and Composite), and it upscales to 1080p or 720p with optional scan lines. It uses the original Nintendo CPU and PPU for top legit-ness. It uses no emulation, either. And all of that badassness is encased in aircraft-grade aluminum. Wowzers.
What’s better is that it works with original NES parts and even has a Famicom Expansion port. Everything from your Zapper to the Famicom Disk System works with it.
This wonderful thing is available for pre-order right now, but it’ll cost you $499. You can even get it in anodized colors for an extra $49. Analogue plans to ship this summer.
I’m almost crazy enough.
