Alone again (naturally)
I’ve been following Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture on and off for years. It’s slotted away in my memory as “that exploration game from the Dear Esther people about the surprisingly serene end of the world as seen from an English countryside.” I see pretty pictures every now and then but haven’t learned much more about the story or gameplay. That’s been largely intentional on my part.
Scrolling through the official site, there are hints that intrigue but don’t over-share:
“The world ended 30 minutes ago. It is time to begin.”
“Uncover the traces of the vanished community; discover fragments of events and memories to piece together the mystery of the apocalypse.”
And that’s about all I want to know before playing (aside from “Is this game worth experiencing, reviewers?”). Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture releases August 11, 2015 for PlayStation 4.
