A second film based on the Hitman franchise was all set to debut with Paul Walker, until his untimely passing in November of 2013. Despite that, Variety reports that the movie is still moving forward, recasting actor Rupert Friend. Friend is best known from Showtime’s Homeland series, where he plays an unconventional CIA operative.

The film was almost canceled after the loss of Walker, but 20th Century Fox apparently decided to go through with it because of the game’s popularity overseas. This iteration will be a reboot rather than a full sequel, completely replacing the original’s framework from the ground up.
