The first 24 tracks in the Guitar Hero Live soundtrack have been announced, and we must face a dark truth: the latest entry in Activision’s venerable rockstar simulation franchise sure does have a lot of tracks without hot licks or gnarly shreds. Look, I appreciate Alt-J’s “Left Hand Free” as much as the next fella, but I do not sustain fantasies of killing that tune in front of a crowd. It’s a cool song, practically made for driving along the coast in the dead of night.

Thankfully, there are a few bodacious rock ballads in the track list, including Pantera’s “Cowboys From Hell” and Judas Priest’s “Breaking the Law.” “Bangarang” is an odd addition, though. I understand guitar is hard to come by in today’s pop market, but there’s good stuff out there! Get some Taylor Swift! Appeal to the kids!

Here’s the unaltered track list on the off-chance you like that kind of thing.

Newly Announced Artists and Tracks:
Judas Priest – “Breaking the Law”
Pantera – “Cowboys From Hell”
Alter Bridge – “Cry of Achilles”
Rage Against the Machine – “Guerrilla Radio”
