As reiterated during today’s Nintendo Direct, Splatoon is going to have four-versus-four online ranked battles with specific rules that differ from the normal mode. Splat Zones is a ranked mode where players battle over specific areas, instead of the entire stage.

In Battle Dojo, players battle one on one locally, one player using the GamePad screen and the other using the TV screen. Players battle to pop the most balloons in the same stages that other battles take place. No other couch cooperative modes have been announced.
