In a surprise move that’s sure to bring about acute feelings of nostalgia all across the world, Nintendo’s releasing Super Mario Kart on the eShop for the Wii U today. That’s right, you no longer have to break the SNES out of the closet to play one of the most influential and memorable racing games of all-time.

Super Mario Kart‘s release comes as an early commemoration for the title’s upcoming 22nd anniversary, which falls on August 27. It also comes amid a flurry of news about updates to Mario Kart 8 in the near future.

Nintendo’s priced Super Mario Kart at $7.99 in the eShop. That’s not a bad price to relive some of the greatest moments of your childhood. Well, eight bucks, and then whatever Lakitu charges you for constantly falling off Rainbow Road.
