Get titles like Madden and Fifa from your cable provider
Electronic Arts could soon be offering their games directly to Comcast subscribers, according to a report from Reuters. The two companies have been in talks, and after two years of testing it seems the deal is close to an agreement.
Titles such as Madden, Fifa, Monopoly, and Plants vs. Zombies were just some of the games reference. The focus will be on sports and casual games at first, with genres like first-person shooters and action games to be looked at based on user preferences. This would also be a service specifically for those that use the cloud-connected X1 cable box system.
Comcast customers will be able to turn their tablets into controllers to play these games, which is disheartening to hear. How the revenue model will work or the release date for such a service have yet to be decided, according to Reuters.
