Hell Yeah developer to cease making games

Arkedo closing its doors

Aurelien Regard, creative director and co-founder of Arkedo, announced today that the studio no longer plans to produce any new games. The company hasn’t been shut down or gone bankrupt, but there are no more employees at the French developer.

Audrelien explained that part of the reason for shutting down was due to the money situation, and it was “decided to disband the team when there still was enough money to get good conditions for everyone, rather than replace permanent positions with interns and a bad atmosphere.”

Another major reason for today’s sad news was due to Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit development, as it proved to be too big in scope for the small studio. Additionally, Audrelien and co-founder Camille Guermonprez both want to work on new endeavors.

Sad news all around. Their games were super quirky, and had a lot of love in them. In somewhat related news, Hell Yeah! Pocket Inferno was just released on the App Store. It was developed by Polm Studio, and it looks kind of like Jetpack Joyride.
