Trion Worlds and Crytek have kicked first-person shooter Warface into gear, announcing that the free-to-play game’s servers are now operational for the closed beta. Amusingly, the “social entertainment platform” powering Warface has literally been named GFACE. Might as well double down on the branding while they’re at it.

Of course, if you weren’t previously compelled to sign up for the beta and have since had a change of heart, it is not too late to become registered. The game doesn’t launch until spring 2013, so there’s plenty of time. I’d be curious to see how the monetization has taken form.
