Artist Rodney Greenblat, best known for his character designs for PaRappa the Rapper and UmJammer Lammy, recently said in an interview that he is “not so happy” about our favorite rapping dog being in a battle game filled with weapons.

When asked about Parappa’s appearance in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Greenblat said, “I’m very happy that Parappa is making a bit of a comeback, but not so happy about him being in a weapon filled battle game.”

It is a bit weird to see a normally pretty peaceful guy dog go at it against dudes with missile launchers and whatnot. At least Parappa’s moveset is weapon-free. Well, unless you count his skateboard dash attack.

Greenblat does admit that Battle Royale is a fun game, though. We’re with him on that.

He’s more concerned with getting Parappa and friends back in the spotlight, which we’re also with him on.

“My hope is that Sony realizes the golden true potential of PaRappa and asks me to design some new games. I’ve learned a lot, and I think PaRappa could be great again.”

I gotta believe that this is going to happen.
