The Wikipad, the first tablet with a console-style gamepad controller, will be released this fall for $499. Retailer GameStop has partnered with Wikipad to kick off pre-orders on September 7, and they’re working it out so that pre-order customers will also receive free games. The titles to be included will be announced by GameStop at a later date.

The Wikipad is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and will support the PlayStation Mobile platform. The controller attachment snaps to the 10.1 inch tablet to provide console-style buttons and sticks. With Android at its core, Google Play support, and other upcoming platforms to be announced, this could be an exciting new direction for portable gaming. We look forward to getting our hands on one soon.

If you want to get a Wikipad for yourself, check back with GameStop tomorrow for a pre-order.
