[Update: 5th Cell dropped us a line to let us know that the server problems have now been resolved and Hybrid will be available again on Xbox Live Arcade tonight stating that they, “expect a smooth gameplay experience from here on out.”]

If you were looking to play 5th Cell’s new third-person shooter, Hybrid, hold your horses for a bit. The game has been pulled down from Xbox Live Arcade following server issues which have made the game unplayable for many users.

Microsoft and 5th Cell have both made apologetic statements, saying that the game will be made available as soon as the servers are working the way they are supposed to be. No specifics have been given as to when that might be, but I imagine folks will be working non-stop until it’s resolved.

Always a bummer when multiplayer-based games have these problems at launch, particularly when it’s a title from a smaller studio where the player support could evaporate if things take too long, leaving another dead game. Here’s to hoping it gets sorted quickly.
