With The Amazing Spider-Man coming to theaters later this summer you can bet your sweet ass that Bobby Kotick is licking his lips in anticipation of all the cash Activision’s latest movie tie-in is about to generate. This time the evil publisher appears to be using multiple carrots to entice consumers, offering the prospect of what looks to be one of those rare promising decent games and some interesting pre-order incentives.
Of those bonuses, Activison is offering the chance to play as Stan Lee to anyone who pre-orders either a PS3 or Xbox 360 copy of The Amazing Spider-Man with Amazon. For some reason the legendary comic book writer has mysteriously acquired Spidey’s powers and is making snippy remarks with his own real live voice about Twitter and other things that may or may not be relevant in popular culture these days.
Also on offer for those looking to reserve a copy before the June 26 street date is GameStop’s “The Rhino Challenge.” If both offers sound alluring, why choose? I’m sure Activision won’t mind selling you one of each.
