God of Wardrobe [Update]

Recommended Videos

A few months ago, Sony gave PlayStation Underground members the opportunity to design alternate costumes for Kratos; the winning costume would appear as an unlockable outfit in the upcoming God of War II.

According to an e-mail I received, “the resulting entries really impressed the dev (sic) team” and Sony is giving other PlayStation Underground members the opportunity to not only see the top entries, but to vote on them as well.

Some of the results are hilarious, ranging from deadly serious submissions by talented artists to sketches thrown together by people who are clearly too young to be playing the “M” rated God of War (one looks like it had actually been colored using crayon).

The best, by far, is Cod of War. Submitted on graph paper and presumably  penciled by a six year old, this is the costume that must appear in the sequel to one of my favorite video games ever. I’m going to buy the game regardless, but if I can select this outfit, I might be tempted to pick up two (or three) copies of the game.

So if you’re a PlayStation Underground member, do your part. Vote Cod of War in 2007.

[Update: I went ahead and added some images of the other costume entries to this post for those folks not “cool” enough to be part of the PlayStation Underground (it’s free to sign up, by the way). For those of you who asked, here’s the link to the contest if you’d like to vote and didn’t receive the e-mail.]
