Summer is here (for folks in temperate regions anyway), and even in the far future of the 25th century, that’s time to party. At least, that’s the kind of future Star Trek Online will be debuting, with the free-to-play MMO’s first-ever summer event. The “Lohlunat Festival” kicks off on June 27th and continues through August. It’ll take place on Risa, the obligatory “beach resort planet” of Star Trek lore, and will be open to all players level 10 and above. Players in the Klingon faction will be given special permission to warp to Risa for the event (the area is otherwise off-limits to them), because everyone deserves to party hard.

Speaking of parties, the celebration will have a number of regularly occurring events, including high-flying jetpack tours, dance competitions, and a hunt for “Horga’hn”, which are basically space Tiki statues. Participation in the event will award items that can be exchanged for goodies like special consumables, costume pieces like hilarious sunglasses and flower necklaces, and pets.

The grandest prize, though, is the Risian Corvette, a starship built for speed and styled like a vehicle from the WipEout racing series. Partygoers can get theirs by running a certain daily quest between June 27th and August 2nd.

Ready to party? You can count me in for that Risian Corvette, but I won’t pass up a chance to nab my very own Horga’hn, considering that statue’s canonical purpose. Awww yeah.
