Nabbit is all that matters
New Super Luigi U is upon us, and I know for a fact that a lot of people aren’t sold yet. So what exactly is new? As a recap, Nintendo reminds us that Luigi can jump further and higher than Mario, but he slides further as a result, making him more difficult to control. All of the game’s remixed 80+ levels are timed to 100 seconds each, adding a speedrun element to them (which I will definitely take advantage of with my speedrun gaming buddy).
Ok, so that sounds great, but we all know the real showstopper here is a playable Nabbit — instead of taking on the role of a bad guy this time around, he’s a character who doesn’t take damage, but also can’t get power-ups. While he’s obviously skewed towards beginners, he’s great to screw around with, and a nice way to acclimate newcomers.
If you own New Super Mario Bros. U, you can pick up Luigi U as DLC for $19.99 this week. If you don’t, you’ll find the retail version hitting stores in July (UK) or August (US) for $29.99.
