Play this adorable puzzle game

In the madness that is E3, it was easy to miss the release of Yoshi on the Wii U Virtual Console for the special price of $0.30, but lo and behold, it happened. For those of you who never played it, Yoshi is an NES game that was actually created by the now legendary Game Freak, the creators of Pokemon. It’s a charming (yet simple) little two-player puzzle game that resembles the many “match” titles that flood the market today, but with a twist — you have to “sandwich” creatures in eggs to create adorable Yoshi creatures.

On July 11th, the game will revert back to $4.99, then Donkey Kong will be available on July 15th for $0.30 as the last game in the promotion. I sincerely hope Nintendo enacts a “Season 2” campaign, because it’s a great way to promote the Virtual Console and an even better way for new players to experience the classics.
