So long as you’re waiting for Command & Conquer Generals 2 like the rest of us, perhaps you’d like to try Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances? It’s a browser-based MMO that is now playable in open beta. If you have an EA account (and can remember the damn password) it only takes a few seconds to get in.

To be frank, it feels like another social-heavy web game, only with a C&C theme. Not that there’s anything inherently wrong with that — it’ll be popular with a different audience, I’m sure — but the lack of player autonomy in certain decisions always bugs me.

I do like that Tiberium Alliances will eventually come to mobile devices with cloud saving, though. That could be neat for those who get sucked into the game.
