Mega Man Legends would probably make a kick-ass NES game

I really hope that Mega Man Legends isn’t still a sore topic for some of you, because you gotta appreciate this upcoming little number for the hotness that it is without any baggage attached.

What you see is a concept video of a Mega Man Legends demake made to look like the NES classic series. Assembled by indie developer Tarbo-san, it’s a recreation of the final boss battle against Mega Man Juno, complete with all of Mega’s abilities like the rolling dodge and the Shining Laser. I’m not so hot on the lock-on technique’s being carried over, though — seems a bit like cheating.

Hopefully, Tarbo-san goes through with his plans to turn this into an actual fan game. I would love to see the Legends universe interpreted as a 2D side-scrolling environment.
