Worst place for a picnic

Are you ready to play Final Fantasy X and X-2 again? I have been since X was announced for Vita at TGS a couple of years ago. We knew it would look better, but that it wouldn’t be a total overhaul, and this new trailer shows exactly that.

Yes, this clip of the opening of Final Fantasy X (the campfire/picnic in the worst place ever for a picnic scene) looks better, but it won’t blow your face off with quality. Close-ups have a bit of plastic face action going on, showing that the upgrade is more about resolution than anything else.

Still, I’m not being an ungrateful bastard, and I think the remaster work looks good so far. I’m more than ready to play both X and X-2 again, and am excited that they’re coming to both the PS3 and Vita.

“What can I do for you?” Well, you can show me some gameplay! Final Fantasy X-2 is not in the trailer other than a quick tease — no footage shown. I would love to see some HD Dressphere action. As I said in a panel at PAX East this past weekend, I am one that loved that game.

Fingers crossed for a summer release on these.
