I have a good feeling about Trine 2. It’s been on my radar ever since the initial screenshots went public, largely thanks to the remarkable use of color. Many of the images could even make for decent desktop wallpapers. On Steam, the game’s pre-purchase switch has been flipped.

Paying early results in access to the two-level PC multiplayer beta, and it’s also worth mentioning that Trine 2 is a Steam Play title, meaning your $14.99 gets you the game on Mac and PC. Love it. Additional pre-order opportunities, including those for a European retail edition, are expected to open soon.

December is sounding like the big month, although Frozenbyte ideally wants to put out all versions — Windows, Mac, Xbox Live Arcade, and PlayStation Network — simultaneously. That could be tricky.

[Thanks, Paul]
